50,000 to the two Cleanest villages of Goa

The Governor of Goa, Smt. Mridula Sinha recently announced a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 each to two of the cleanest villages in Goa. The winners will be one village from North Goa and one from South Goa. The award ceremony for the cleanest villages will be held on October 2, 2017, at Raj Bhavan on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The villages will be judged until September 2017 according to a source.

A great initiative by the Governor of Goa, who is the brand ambassador of the National Campaign, ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’  to promote the ‘Clean India’ or ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign launched by our current Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. We hope the prize will be a great boost for the Village panchayats of Goa to help implement the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Earlier this year the Government of Goa had announced prize money of Rs. 1,00,000 to the cleanest city of Goa Earlier, among Panaji, Mapusa, Ponda, Margao and Vasco. the awards for the cleanest city is to be presented on December 19, Goa Liberation Day at the home of our Governor, Raj Bhavan.
