The Government of Goa and Amazon India held initial discussions to explore collaborative efforts which could see Goan startups getting their hands on Amazon’s products and services.

Private equity support and E-commerce adoption were also discussed during the meeting. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Minister of Goa, Laxmikant Parsekar. It was attended by young blood from the Goa startup community.

“We would love to be involved with Goa and enable growth for startups”, the Director of Public Policy at Amazon India, Avinash Ramachandra said.

Parsekar offered a State of the art training facility to Amazon India, so that training sessions could be held on Amazon Web Services for local startups. Amazon Web Services is a subsidiary of Amazon.com that offers a suite of cloud computing services that can make up an on-demand computing platform.
