Everyone’s got a sweet tooth. Even the ones that insist they don’t, will still pop a sweet or a chocolate into their mouth just for some delicious goodness after a meal. Different countries and cultures make all kinds of melt-in-the-mouth desserts, each with a taste of their own. In India, we not only have sweets like barfis, jalebis, and the like but we love cakes and other sweet pastries too. Easter and Christmas are two times of the year when people gorge on yummy sweets. And Alisha Rodrigues, from Mumbai, knows this too. She’s bringing her skills to Goa with her venture Bakealish and holding workshops on making fondant Easter eggs and cakes just in time for the celebrations.

Alisha Rodrigues – the creator of Bakealish

Alisha Rodrigues is a baking instructor & cake decorator based out of Bombay, India. But who is she really? And what is Bakealish? We think we’ll let her tell the story for now.

“I’m a complete Baking Addict.” This is how Alisha Rodrigues of Bakealish introduces herself on her blog with the same name. “Having the passion to do something is what matters the most, and to me baking it is. I got the bug after taking a basic cake decorating class (7 years ago) and since then, I haven’t stopped.” She says.

Describing her business, she adds that Bakealish is a website which focuses on classic baking. Everything is inspired by her favorite flavors and recipes passed down in her family. “All the recipes I follow are traditional recipes with a modern touch to them. It is a place to explore recipes & tutorials for cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, tarts, pies and much more..”

Alisha also says she loves experimenting in the kitchen and creating new recipes for herself and everyone who is in need of fool-proof recipes.

Bakealish is a testament to the fact. “I’ve got a sweet tooth which cannot be tamed so you’re going to find a lot of sweet recipes out here.”
