Yes, when in Goa you will want to go to the beach relax and take a swim. Maybe you would like to go visit different parts of the state, go sightseeing. Architecture, waterfalls, historic sites etc lots of them to go around with. Have you ever thought of that, being on the coast you missed out the most common thing but yet so distinct only to a coastal area like Goa. But, HAVE YOU BEEN TO THE FISH MARKETS IN GOA?

Historic sites and other landmarks will be available in other countries and states as well, but a proper fish market where they sell fresh fish which is most definitely right out of the sea and then right in front of you. This is only available in this paradise we call Goa.

To Market to buy fish

Time to get up at 5am! Why? Because that’s the time you get the best, of the best fish in that particular market for the rest of the day. So rise and shine and head to the fish market to get your catch.

The other aspect about a Goan fish market is the crowd, the markets are always bustling with lots and lots of people especially Goans who come to take their share of fish on a daily basis. Also thanks to the love of fish and on a whole the seafood family, the market not only welcomes the Goans but tourists as well.

They might speak in typical Konkani language and yell at you to buy their fish and at the same time be talking, laughing and chatting with the other fishermen and women. Don’t get confused just enjoy the systematic chaos, it’s a one time opportunity.

So when in Goa instead of only going to the beach and other sites make sure you go to a fish market. It does not have to be a particular one but whichever is closest to you, just get on your feet and get there! This is where you will experience the Goan life and you will understand why the people of Goa are proud to be Goans.
