Goa Marathi Film Festival to be held from June 16 to 18

The state is set to host the Goa Marathi Film Festival (GMFF) from June 16 to 18. The festival will witness the poster release of Priyanka Chopra’s film ‘Kay re rascala’.  While fashion designer Vikram Phadnis will showcase his directorial debut, ‘Hrudayantar’.

‘Sachin – A billion dreams’ will also be screened at the festival.

“The festival, which prides itself on introducing quality Marathi films that are critically acclaimed and commercially successful, will have star-studded movie premiers, tributes to industry stalwarts, interactive and educational workshops, theatrical performances, and exhibitions,” said filmmaker Dnyanesh Moghe of Vinsan World, the organizer was quoted by the Hindu.

The festival will showcase its line up in the interior areas of Goa besides the Prime city. “This festival will be taken to Goa’s interiors to start a dialogue among people about the content and importance of regional cinema. We hope that this arouses curiosity among the audience and piques their interest in Marathi films,” Moghe was quoted by ToI.

The list of films to be showcased:

Dashakriya, Kaasav, Ventilator, Dr. Rakhmabai, Cycle, Take Care Good Night, Sachin-A Billion Dreams, F.U., Sanchaar, Bhow, Nadi Vahate, Pimpal, Chi va Chi Sau Ka, Condition Apply.

Aba Aiktay Na, Saavat, Chaukat, and Bubblehead.
