Wati-wati…wati ahet! Perhaps this will be the new buzzword of a small cozy place recently opened in Porvorim Hari Prabhu with wife Sunita has taken a rich rewarding legacy of food forward. As for the décor…clean and hygienic are some adjectives that comes to one’s mind but it is the furniture, the single marble topped antique tables that are delight to the eye. Look at the wall where a large banner featuring the menu is displayed for all to see. The menu has a family mix of curries living up to its signature byline ‘Goan sea food Mackeral,Halwa Kingish, Prawns Pomfret Crabs,Shark,Teesroi…you name it,it featured there. But this concept of wati-wati has its own charm. You order a wati of Prawn Masala and it comes with two chapattis as with the Crab Xec-Xec or maybe the Mutton or Chicken Xacutti. There are thalis too on offer……vegetarian, fish, chicken and mutton. As a family restaurant goes, one finds very little to complain about. It is a simple joint where the food is tasty with warm, personal and quick service. On the minus side…. There is not alcohol served. Perhaps another drawback is the fact that with limited space… just 27 covers, the waiting time for a meal could be stressful. Wati wati….watik ahet (it’s on the way) to becoming the most popular place in town.
