“Pedal your way around various tourist destinations on the ‘Cycle Party’!”.

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar will launch the newly manufactured in Goa ‘Cycle Party’ on October 31, the state Tourism Ministry said in a statement.

The ‘Cycle Party’

With a seating configuration similar to that of a dinner table, the ‘Cycle Party’ Pedibus is the most fun and sociable way to explore the city. As easy as 2 wheel cycling, safer than rickshaws and 3 times the speed of walking. Climb onboard for a tour or use it for an event. Common in leading tourist destinations across Europe and North America, young entrepreneurs Heta and Harsh Patel have brought this concept to India and plan to launch it in Goa. They felt that domestic tourists are always on the lookout for more adventure while in Goa. Therefore this would be the perfect location for the launch.

Experience the joy of bicycling without really knowing how to cycle. A combo of a bus and bicycle, this Pedi bus is an eco-friendly open air carrier. The physical pedalling by each passenger will set the Cycle in motion. 10 seats placed on either side of a table have a pair of pedals at the base. These enable the cyclists’ to eat and drink while pedalling. “Enjoy a bite or some chit-chat across the table with buddies while sightseeing”. Of course, you get to play your own music as well.

One can hop on and off at leisure with the pace solely at the discretion of the pedallers. Stop at every nook and corner to take in every detail of the sightseeing tour.

Tour Schedule and Booking

According to a Ministry of Tourism statement, several different tours will be scheduled throughout the day, from different locations, beginning with Candolim and Baga. These can be booked online, on the phone or through one’s hotel.

An undeniably interesting venture. But would the narrow roads and increasing vehicular traffic in the state be a dampener?

The ‘Cycle Party”, what a ride! Coming to Goa this Monday. So put on your cycling shoes and cycle away the blues.
