Rs. 24 lakhs in new currency notes seized in Goa by the Goa police

The Goa police in the coastal village of Calangute has seized Rs.24 lakhs mostly in new currency notes of Rs. 2000. The police have arrest three local residents. The police are currently interogating the alleged accused. Their identitys are yet to be revealed.

A tip-off led to the raid. “The cash was seized in a car in Calangute village. The Income Tax department in Goa has been informed about the seizure and they will be conducting further investigations,” the spokesperson said. (Source The New Indian Express)

Currently, investigations are on to find out the origins of the cash. Three men are alleged to belong to a gang that converts the black money into white for a commision of 40 per cent.
