Self goal saves the day for Sporting Clube de Goa

There were two goals scored by a single team in last night’s I – League match held at Fatorda stadium. Mohun Bagan visiting team to the state had to lose points due to a mistake done by a defender which also resulted in the match ending in a draw.

But, Mohun Bagan still managed to hold on to the top spot with 22 pts, having won six matches, drawn four out of total ten matches played. While, Sporting Clube de Goa has 13 pts to its credit with four draws, three wins and three losses from the ten matches played.

The first first goal of the match was scored by Bagan’s Brandon Fernandes (by the visitors in the 28th minute). The second goal was a self goal scored by Raju Gaikwad of the same team (in the 39th minute). Sporting Clube de Goa (stepped up their attacks but) did not succeed in scoring any goals.

Mohun Bagan will now face Aizawl FC in the next match on March 26. while Sporting Clube de Goa will face Bengaluru FC on March 6.
