One of my favourite shops in South Goa. Shefali Mahadik studied design at the prestigious NID in Ahmedabad. She now runs this small boutique and works with NGO’s on livelihood projects to help train crafts persons in design innovation and enterpreneurship. One example is the Anu brand of bags made in Janakiram, a Bangalore Slum. The shop has a house fashion brand of women’s easy wear clothes made with cotton/lycra and carries a selection of Indian contemporary design with just a few international brands. Each season her range changes and includes a fresh selection of handicrafts, hand-made designer garments and tribal art.

Look out for jewellery by South African designer Pieter St Erasmus, who produces in India and has a star-studded clientele from Hollywood, Bollywood and even Michelle Obama wears Pieter’s pieces. There is always bikini range and some of the stencil pop art from Nicky Thomas. Credit cards accepted.Sep to May. Daily 9am-11pm
