Election Commissioner to visit Goa on September 14

In preparation for the upcoming assembly polls, a team of Election Commission senior officials are slated to visit Goa on September 14. The main aim of the team would be to check the preparedness of the state to conduct the elections.

“Three member team led by Deputy Election Commissioner Umesh Sinha would be in the state on September 14. They will hold interaction with office bearers of different political parties and officials of Chief Electoral Office,” said a senior official attached to Chief Electoral Office in a PTI report.

Sinha will gather information such as ‘total number of voters registered’ , ‘Indian voters having foreign nationality’, a number of central and state holidays and other information needed to set the polling dates.
