It’s a fact. No matter who you are or where you’re from, you love pizza – unless you are gluten or lactose intolerant. You will rarely ever meet anyone who says otherwise. And what’s not to love? The pizza is pretty much as balanced as it gets. You have bread for carbs, cheese for fat, and a healthy serving of meats and veggies for proteins and minerals. Plus it’s usually big enough to share, so it makes for a great family or party meal. There’s really no occasion that can’t be made awesome without a pizza. If you live in Porvorim, every day of the week can be pizza day. American-Italian, or wood-fired, here are 7 of the best pizza places in Porvorim.

Saraya

Right of the bat, this one is admittedly a little out of the Porvorim purview, however, it’s worth the extra half kilometre. Saraya’s pizzas are out of this world! Very few places make a true wood-fired pizza like this place, and if you’re looking for a quiet getaway to enjoy your pie with a date, then look no further. Saraya’s ingredients are fresh and completely organic. What’s more, if you have a friend in the group who is vegan, the good folks at Saraya have you covered.

Smokin Joe’s

Who said franchise pizzas are a bad idea? No one – ever. In fact, when it comes to franchise pizza, Smokin Joe’s is one of the best. Of all the pizzerias on this list, Smokin Joe’s has probably the most exhaustive list of pizzas, ensuring there’s something for everyone – even if it means doing a Satay chicken to appease the far east Asian taste in the group. And speaking of groups, their Maha Pizza is big enough to serve 8 people, making it the biggest pizza in town!

Uncle Tilly’s

This one’s relatively new to the area, having opened just a month ago – but it’s already becoming one of the favourite pizza places in Porvorim. A sister concern of Tio Tilly’s in Candolim, Uncle Tilly’s has a rather exciting range of pizzas. Their standard Pepperoni is awesome, but if you’re a bacon fan, then the Moshimbo pizza is a must-try. Bacon, mushroom, garlic, and onion – a tantalizing combination that will definitely leave you wanting more.

Domino’s

Domino’s is to pizza what Cadbury is to chocolate. The godfather of the American-Italian pizza, Domino’s has been through the wringer but has definitely come out on top. With their constant menu innovations, Domino’s has managed to be a crowd favourite in the franchise pizza space, especially when it comes to their 30-minute delivery. However, if you’re still looking for a good enough reason to ditch the artisan pizzas, we have two words for you – cheese burst.

Beetle Pub

Thanks to the popular delivery services in Goa, Beetle Pub has acquired a new fan following in the area. This cute little pub that’s a part of Casa Bela has a small, yet carefully crafted selection of pizzas. It’s also the only joint on the list that serves alcohol, so if you’re looking for a spot to let your hair down after work, this is the place. Their pepperoni pizza is probably their best pie, especially since they’ve gone a step further by adding caramelised onions to the mix – yowza!

Pizza Hut

The last of our franchise pizza places in Porvorim, the Hut moved into what used to be Maracas, and it started bringing in the aficionados from day one. Known for its unique stuffed crusts and delightfully buttery pizza bases, Pizza Hut serves probably the best American-Italian pizza in town. The Chicken Italiano is definitely a favourite, however, while you’re there, make sure you check out their selection of garlic breads. It’s the perfect accompaniment to an already awesome pizza.

La Cucina

Pardon the pun, but this one is literally ‘fresh out of the oven’. Having opened less than a week ago in the Delfino’s courtyard, this brand new pizzeria might be new to the area but not new to the game. With an already established following for their outlet in Morjim, the La Cucina team has brought their zest for the best to Porvorim in an adorable live setup that promises the real deal. While there are a few adventurous pizzas such as the Susegado with Cafreal chicken and the Schezwan with, well, Schezwan chicken, their classic pork Pepperoni and The Emilian with Parma Ham are authentic, wood-fired, Italian goodness.

Whether you’re craving American-Italian, wood-fired or electric, there’s no denying that these are some of the best pizza places in Porvorim. Which one of these is your favourite? Let us know in the comments below.
