Mark Zuckerberg, chairman, chief executive officer, and co-founder of Facebook is launching an unbelievable internet plan with Airtel. He is actively working on the newly launched project ‘Express Wi-Fi’.

His intention is to take the internet to those underprivileged people who don’t have access to the internet. Many areas in India are remote and have no access to the internet. According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), only 390 Million people out of the population of 1.3 Billion are on the internet. In his facebook post, Zuckerberg said that it will ensure high-speed internet via public hotspot to the places with no or minimal internet connectivity. Bharti Airtel tying-up with Facebook, over 20,000 public hotspots will be installed all across India.

What is ‘Express Wi-fi’?

Express Wi-Fi is Facebook’s collaboration with Bharti Airtel in order to connect people with slow or no internet to a lightning fast internet.

Now those areas in Goa where neither Jio nor Idea or Vodafone work, have a hope of finally having access to Wi-Fi through ‘ExpressWi-Fi’. Having made its presence in India already, it’s a matter of time when it will sweep every nook and corner of Goa and other remote areas in the country via Hotspot. It is expected to be cheaper than the normal internet packages.

This initiative by Zuckerberg is definitely going to contribute towards making every village in Goa and the country Wi-Fi connected. Thus contributing towards upliftment of India as a smart nation, fulfilling Prime Minister Modi’s dream of making India a digitally fit nation.

On this collaboration, Ajaip Puri, Chief Operating Officer (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel said: “We are delighted to be a part of this initiative to provide affordable access to high-speed data to users across India, particularly in the underserved segment. We believe this will help in empowering millions of Indians by bringing them online and contribute to the Government’s Digital India vision.”

Unhappy with your internet service providers? Unable to get connectivity in your area? Now ‘Express Wi-Fi’ is here to guarantee internet connectivity in a cheap and affordable manner
