If you’re looking for the perfect beach vibe and an even better dining experience, then look no further than the Flying Dolphin beach bar and restaurant. After a walk in the sands, step into this amazing dining venue that will meet your expectations for a scrumptious tapas spread, as well as Goan and Greek mezze platters. If that’s not inviting enough, you can also tuck into some juicy barbeques, accompanied by lip-smacking cocktails and wines right on the beach. Keeping things light and breezy is the live lounge music every Wednesday featuring some of Goa’s best musicians.
Variety is the spice of life
Owner Michael who travels often to Greece has added a repertoire of Greek mezze to bring some variety to a menu that includes Indian, Goan and Continental preparations. With the sound of the waves in the background, you can feast on some innovative dishes such as the greek ‘Mezze’ with Tzatziki, stuffed eggs, Dolmas, and Calamata Olives. Another hot favorite is the Drunken Prawns, an innovation of succulent prawns soaked in Peri-Peri Chilli Lime Masala which is pure ecstasy.
If however, you are homesick and looking for some good Indian fare, Michael has created a fusion which will have your palate yearning for more. The Kurkure Jhinga – butterfly cut prawns lightly coated with rawa and deep fried – is aptly named with crunchy overtones when dipped in the tangy piquant cocktail sauce. It reads like a mouthful, and it most certainly is!
A great night out
Shacks are always a great place to hang out, especially when you’re on holiday in Goa – and the Flying Dolphin definitely does not disappoint. Make sure you call ahead to find out about the live entertainment, and maybe even make a reservation because the Flying Dolphin does draw quite a crowd, especially on the weekends. Bon Appetit!
