Your journey in North Goa is incomplete without visiting the Bom Jesus Basilica, which is home to the preserved body of St. Francis Xavier for 450 years and more.

  1. As a Goan, I am happy to read about Goa’s splendours. However, Goa has a very dark underbelly which also needs airing. I also read Vivek Menezes’s article on Kerala and how different the two states are despite the similarities.

People need to introspect and bring about a desperately needed change in Goa. From the environment, to the cleanliness, casino culture, employment (or the lack of it), to the overcrowding and slum growth.

While many of these are not of the common person’s making and has to do with greedy politicians, the politicians are elected by the Goans.

With elections around the corner, we hope for a better tomorrow
