Perched on the first-floor of the Panaji Residency, Goan Ruchira is worth a visit for the scenic views of the Panaji Riviera (riverfront) located just behind the Old Secretariat. The menu is multi-cuisine with Indian, Goan and Chinese food available, the prices are reasonable and the portions quite big. Get yourself a table in the outdoor section on the terrace verandah, and watch the world, the various casinos, speed boats, barges, cruise boats in River Mandovi go by as the stewards take your orders and the kitchen prepares your meal. There is also an air-conditioned section inside for more formal occasions. The food quality is average, though. However, there is something for everyone here, right from Mutton Biryani to Goan Chicken Cafreal, various varieties of Chinese Fried Rice, assorted gravy based items and an exhaustible vegetarian selection, including the unique Goan style Cashewnut Bhaji.
