Chairman, Mukesh Ambani addressed a meeting on the 1st of December regarding the new ‘Jio Happy New Year’ offer that he has come up with. The JIO welcome offer has given most citizens the advantage to avail free internet till the 31st of December 2016. The main idea behind the offer he said was to get feedback from the customers and to iron out the deficiencies discovered.

LARGEST DATA NETWORK GLOBALLY:

  • 25 times more data per user than average broadband user
  • Unleashing the transformative potential of data
  • Largest broadband player in India in less than 3 months

In the span of three short months, Jio has grown faster than Facebook, Whatsapp or even Skype. In 83 days, it has crossed 28 states in India. Mukesh Ambani was all praises saying, “To each and every customer of Jio, I would like to say ‘Dhanyavad’, thank you from the bottom of my heart for this achievement, for your enthusiasm and for reinforcing our belief in India’s digital appetite, thank you for launching our nation on the path to the top 10 digital countries in the world.”

Today Jio has successfully rolled out eKYC across 2 lakh outlets in India. In perspective, this is nearly equal to the total number of ATMs in India. They are planning on doubling the network to 4 lakh digitally enabled outlets by March of 2017.

Every Jio store and retailer in every neighbourhood can not only be able to activate Jio eKYC but also equipped to provide unmatched customer service. Adding to this, they can also provide new ‘Adhaar’ based services because of this digital infrastructure.

Jio’s voice services suffered due to 900 crore blocked voice calls by the 3 largest operators. Jio being the tireless champion continued to monitor call blocks from 90% to 20% as updated on the 30th of November. But are still working with fellow operators to make the connection flawless with a minimum of 0.5% interference.

Mukesh Ambani further said that people who don’t want to give up their old numbers don’t need to worry. As of now, Jio fully supports mobile number portability. And all customers can retain their existing number when they migrate to Jio.

They have gone a step further by introducing the home delivery service ! Yes, you read that right !!! Free home delivery of Jio SIM cards to those who are not able to go to the stores. And the activation will take about 5 minutes through eKYC. This is progressively launched throughout India through the MyJio App and will be available in the top 100 cities by the 31st of December 2016.

Furthermore, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced extension of free domestic voice calls and data till March 31. With over 52 million customers taking advantage of Jio’s free voice and data since its launch on September 4, he announced ‘Jio Happy New Year Offer. Free data, voice, video and applications till March 31 for new users joining from December 4 as well as the existing ones. However, the plan will come with a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) which will limit the data for Reliance Jio customers at around 1 GB per day.
