Morjim Beach is located across the Chapora river in North Goa. A long stretch of white, sandy beach, it’s also the world famous nesting site of the Olive Ridley Turtle. A short distance from the turtles’ nesting site lies the gorgeous, peaceful Montego Bay Beach Village.

It’s Fun, It’s Peaceful and You’ll Never Want To Leave Montego Bay Beach Village

Spread over 3 acres of carefully maintained lawns, kissing the beach with a background of swaying palm trees, you’ll definitely not want to leave. The place is really a paradise on earth. With direct access to the beach and lots to keep guests entertained, it is an ideal getaway resort for couples and families.

Started by a close friend named Alvin Fernandes sometime in 2002, the resort has seen nothing but success. He runs the resort with the help of his wife Karen and a great team. Montego Bay Beach Village is a well-known name in almost every household and everyone has either celebrated a birthday or a wedding there at some point in time.

Food and Drinks by the beach

The resort has a very pretty restaurant serving Continental, Indian, Chinese, fresh seafood dishes, and local Goan Cuisine. The bar at Montego Bay Beach Village also serves up the usual liquor and a wide choice of cocktails. Their Apple pie with ice-cream is to die for and an absolute must eat. You won’t regret it, that’s for sure!

There’s a lovely sun-deck with wide couches arranged in the manner of an unformed square, each completed by a wide and low table. These are perfect for sitting on or even lying down and whiling the entire day away. A few of these are also placed near the restaurant area of Montego Bay Beach Village.

Accommodation at Montego Bay Beach Village

You get the feeling of living in a tiny Goan village when you arrive at Montego Bay Beach Village. The resort has a variety of room categories like AC Beach tents, AC Log Cabins, a Casa da Mudança for that feeling of being in your own bedroom at home, a Beach Villa and a Beach View AC Log Cabin (there’s only 1 of this type so you have to hurry and book, should it be available). All these categories have mostly a partial view of the sea.  The only exceptions are a couple of the Beach tents and the Beach View AC Log Cabin.

Montego Bay Beach Village is also a great place for weddings. Since the resort started, there have been a ton of weddings held there. Mostly NRI ones but the same is slowly also turning to include weddings of local Goans.

When to visit Montego Bay Beach Village

So with all this information, isn’t it about time to go check out Montego Bay Beach Village? Best time to visit is between the months of October (it’s usually open by mid-October) to end of March. The resort shuts down for the monsoons as the AC Beach tents and the restaurant have to be taken down due to CRZ rules and regulations. It’s all put up again just in time for the tourist season though.

You can check out their official website or their Facebook page for information. If you call Alvin on the number mentioned on the website, he’s more than happy to help out with whatever you need.

Now go on and visit. Just wait another 2 weeks though until the resort is completely ready to welcome you. 🙂
