REPUBLIC OF NOODLES

A republic is a form of government that has supreme control over – in this case ‘the noodles’. It is a well known fact that the noodle migrated to various parts of the Far East and here is the Republic of Noodles which serves an authentic range of noodles, besides stir fries and clay pots curries. There is classical South East Asian fare from Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia and Burma with signature hot sauces that are not typical in other places and which adds a special flavour to the meal. The décor is al fresco, casual dining with a mix of sofa seating and cane chairs, subtle lighting and decorative pieces. Take a look at what is an offer – for starters try the Barbecued Pork Spare Ribs or the Thai Garlic Pepper Prawns. One sweet and tangy with honey sauce, the other peppery as the name suggests.

For mains try the Jungle Curry with Potatoes. If pork catches your fancy then try the Braised Pork with Pokchoy. The spices entwined in these preparations really works wonders to the salivary glands. Order the accompanying noodles, the Laotian Drunken Noodles or the old favourite Bangkok-style Phad Thai. Would you like to know how far the noodle can stretch? You will need a breather after all that food. However, there is always room for expansion for the Indonesian Banana Fritters with honey crunch ice cream or the Water Chestnut Rubies in sweetened coconut milk. The desserts are compatible with the Indian palate. Remember the word republic is also derived from a Latin phrase res publica translated as ‘a public affair’. This experience is definitely an affair for the public to remember.
