Keeping up with technology, the transport department has developed an app to make it easier for commuters to register their complaints with the department. The app named ‘Complaints Registration’ will be officially launched this month.

Any sort of grievances faced by the commuters can be registered using the app. “Citizens can lodge any number of complaints pertaining to transport in Goa through this app,” a transport official told ToI.

The app is managed by Infotech Corporation Goa Limited (ITG). “After downloading the app, which is free, one has to register his/her email and phone number before registering a complaint,” said ITG programmer Tushar Kenavdekar as quoted by ToI.

A user can also upload relevant videos, images and documents onto the app relevant to their complaints. The file size has been limited to 5 MB per complaint. The complainant is then given a Unique ID, which they can use to track the progress of the complaint. The department will also send SMS alerts to the complainant whenever there is any progress in regards to their complaints.

The app service is an upgradation to the SMS complaint service run by the transport department since 2013 wherein a user can send their complaints to the department through an SMS to 51969.
