Veri Feni gets its name from the Goan alcohol called Feni, made either from distilled and fermented coconut or cashew juices. The word Feni is derived from the Sanskrit word Phena, which means froth. The ambience is very Goan here, with paintings by noted Goan cartoonist Mario Miranda adorning the walls. A tall hanging drunk feni man is the prime attraction as well as a major interior prop at Veri Feni and is considered as an intense inspiration for the teetotalers. This is a very contemporary party place –sports bar-cigar lounge with Plasma TVs, snooker table, humidor, card table, dance floor and DJ, all in one place. But its unique selling point is the fact that it has a contemporary variety of cocktails, exotic fenitails, wines, beers, spirits, liqueurs and cigars, as well as a special collection of single malts and Vodkas.

If after an early dinner you feel the night is still young, dance away in the evenings to some contemporary music, nibble on some finger foods as you go through the extensive wine, beer and spirit list. Get muddled with a Mojito, the barman muddles in the old fashioned way. Sip the combo of white rum. Lime chunks with fresh mint leaves in the old fashioned glass as you play on the complimentary sports options which range from a card table to an American snooker table. Wind up the evening with a Tequila Sunrise, another barman’s special even though thebar closes at the stroke of midnight. Perhaps the other favourites like the classic Martini or Margarita or drop in after dinner for the late night cigar and cognac. Which makes it a very popular destination with the Richie-rish crowd, is the ‘Veri’ faithful Cadbury around?
